I don’t know much about this guy, his name is Tahir – ul – Qadri and he seems to have a large and rather worryingly devoted following.
However the important thing here is the severe and deserved chastisement of the doyen of the ‘Salafi’ movement Muhammad Nasiruddin al-Albani and his tampering with the source books of Islamic law.
Shocking, worrying and above all, sad.
Salam bro,
Yes perhaps he does have a “scary” following among South Asians, but he is very good. His talks in urdu are very interesting. He did lose appeal, some appeal when he decided to enter politics some idk two decades ago.
Also he got flack when he actually sat down with some interfaith dialogue group a while back. Apparently in that “Pakistan is my jaan” country, even talking to a jew is taboo.
P.S. what the heck is a XYLATUS ? 🙂
I don’t think TuQ drew flack for interfaith work but for celebrating Christmas with Christians and calling it a Mawlid. Here is Shaykh G. F. Haddad’s fatwa on the issue: http://www.livingislam.org/fiqhi/sm1-gfh_e.html#ccc
